What is Venetian Plaster?
John Fox Fine Painting uses only the finest mineral plasters and marble dust from Italy. Plaster finishes are available in various aggregates and how large or small dictates their ability to be richly textured with an old world feel, used with stencils for relief patterns, lightly textured, smoothed and waxed, or burnished and polished to a high shine. Some include reflective mineral deposits that are only seen when the finish is illuminated. These variations differ slightly by supplier and often go by names like Venetian Plaster, Marmorino, or the hard, waterproof application, Tadelakt. We work with luxury, natural products which are available in untinted white or matched to any color. We have 25 years of experience with trowel applied plaster finishes and have a nuanced understanding of how to produce a professional, natural looking, perfectly burnished as you like it, and durable finish on any surface.

Venetian plaster is highly customizable—it can be tinted to any color and finished with varying degrees of sheen, from subtle matte to high polish that mimics marble.
Common applications for Venetian plaster include main living areas, dining rooms, powder rooms and commercial interiors seeking luxury finishes. Most plaster finishes will be moisture-resistant when properly sealed. For waterproof applications like bathrooms and kitchens, Tadelakt applications are recommended.
